A father and stepmother sold their 10-year-old daughter multiple times to many unidentified men, all of whom raped her in the past four years. The girl used to stay with her 60-year-old father and 25-year-old stepmother in Loni. The girl was found near Jaipur Railway station in a loitering state in December last year.
- The girl was handed over to child welfare committee in Ghaziabad by the one established in Jaipur. They even wrote to the police to file an FIR against the parents. The girl is kept under constant observation by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Periodic counselling is being given to the girl.
- According to the minor girl, her father used to inflict a hot iron rod on her which led to many burn injuries on her thighs and legs. She also revealed that her father used to steal many children from different railway stations and then used to sold them in far-flung areas. She further added, her father who was a butcher remarried after the death of her mother.
A CWC member, Shalini Singh said, the girl suffered through extreme cruel acts of violence at the hands of her parents leaving her in a complete state of shock. The girl’s sufferings increased at home, when she made any mistake in doing household works like cooking and cleaning. The stepmother sold the girl to a man, who in turn would gave her to some other person after keeping her for some time. Some of the places where she was sold were Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jodhpur and Delhi.
The girl has refused to go with her parents and the counselling has been going on.
