Blackmail Movie Review: Wickedly Funny and A Must Watch Comedy Thriller

Blackmail Movie Review

The Delhi Belly director Abhinav Deo is back with another black comedy “Blackmail” and some wonderful actors – Irrfan Khan, Divya Dutta Kirti Kulhari and Arunoday Singh — to support him in the endeavour. The movie manages to maintain a balance between dark and funny.

In the opening, we see Dev (Irrfan Khan) being a toilet paper salesman struggling to stay afloat through his office hours. Irrfan plays the role of an average middle-class man who reaches home early one day to find his wife Reena (Kirti Kulhari) with another man Arunodoy in the bed.

Blackmail Movie Review

Irrfan gives a solid performance as the average middle-class man who just can’t stand up to his unfaithful wife, nor to his boss. When Dev comes to know about his wife, then he blackmails her lover Ranjit (Arunoday Singh) who then blackmail Dev’s wife. The drama grows further when the rest of the characters in Dev’s life are aware of his blackmailing plans. After that everyone starts blackmailing anybody for some purpose.

According to me, as each plot opens, the conditions starts to get more fun. Talking about Irrfan’s acting, he has given a solid performance of an average office man. Whereas, Kulhari has also done total justice to her character well. Arunoday Singh has given the best performance of his career so far.
