CAT is widely accepted and prominent MBA entrance exam in India for admission in 20 top IIMs, FMS, JBIMS, IMI, SPJIMR, MDI, IMT, NITIE, MBA programmes at IITs and hundreds of other top MBA colleges in India. Going by the past trends, it is expected that more than 2 lakh candidates will register and apply for Common Admission Test CAT 2018. Number of candidates applying for CAT exam has increased to 2.32 lakhs in 2017 and 2018 exam is likely to see participation of higher number of MBA aspirants.

Common Admission Test or CAT 2018 exam will be conducted by one of the top 6 IIMs namely – IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode. Other newly established IIMs are not yet assigned with the responsibility to conduct CAT exam. Tata Consultancy Services will be the testing partner for 2018 CAT.

CAT 2018 will be totally computer based exam for 3 hours duration with 100 questions divided into 3 different sections. 2018 CAT will be conducted in more than 140 test cities in India. Probably exam will be held on a Sunday in the last week of November or first week of December 2018. As per the past trends will be conducted in two sessions – morning and afternoon.

CAT is Common test that does not require any specialist or professor in English, Math’s or reasoning. The purpose of it is to assess how a candidate approach the situation and how intelligently solve it in the shortest span of time. An aspirant need not to attempt all given questions but it needs to maximize your correct attempts and minimize the wrong attempts because it is realized that if attempted right questions can even fetch you a percentile of 98-99.

CAT preparation needs smart and intelligent studies to crack questions and does not require you to study round the clock.

Apart from IIMs, top MBA Colleges accepting CAT Score 2018 include FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, IMI New Delhi, JBIMS Mumbai, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI Manipal, BIMTECH Greater Noida, GIM Goa, Great Lakes Chennai, LIBA Chennai, IFMR Chennai, XIM Bhubaneswar and hundreds of other MBA colleges accepting CAT.

  •  2018 CAT Eligibility
  1. Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks, or
  2. Any completed professional degree such as CA/CS/ICWA with required percentage, or
  3. Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree with required percentage
  4. There is no age constraint to register and appear in CAT exam.

  1. Notification date: July 28, 2018
  2. Registration start date: August 4, 2018
  3. Registration ends: September 20, 2018
  4. Admit card release date: October 25, 2018
  5. Exam date: November 25, 2018
  6. Result date: January 2019 second week
