Pregnant Woman Found Stuffed in Suitcase

New Delhi: A pregnant woman was found dead while being stuffed in a suitcase in Indirapuram along the NH-24 on Tuesday night, who was reported missing a few days ago. The 24-year-old woman Mala’s husband had lodged a missing complaint.

  • The husband, Shivam works as a salesperson at a garments showroom in DLF Mall of Noida. On the accusation of woman’s father of killing her for not bringing along enough dowry, the husband has been detained. The victim’s father in an interview said, “the suitcase in which his daughter was stuffed was gifted to the couple at their marriage”. There is a suspicion that Mala could have been strangled to death with a towel. The victim’s family has accused her husband and in-laws for murdering her over not fulfilling dowry demands. Mala had married Shivam last year in November against the wishes of Shivam’s family.

The police said that they received an anonymous call about the suitcase on Tuesday evening at the control room. They further added that the limbs and the neck of the 23-year-old, five months pregnant woman, were twisted to fit the body into the suitcase.

The police have registered an FIR against five people, who are all absconding.
