Ladli Yojna Delhi – Aims and Benefits

In such a modern world, even today we can see some Indian states showing discrimination towards girls. Against this discrimination with the girls, the Delhi Government has started the Ladli scheme for the protection of girls on 01-01-2008. They started the campaign to spread awareness about the importance of girl child in our society. This scheme helps in providing security to girls and promote girls’ education. The objectives of Ladli Yojna Delhi involve empowering the girl child socially and economically, promoting birth registration of girl child, controlling female foeticide and to improve sex ratio, ending discrimination against the girl child, promoting education among the girls and reducing school drop-out rate of girl students. They even aim to provide security to girl students for their higher education.

Eligibility Criteria for Ladli Scheme by Delhi Government are:

• The girl should be born in Delhi and should have birth certificate issued by the Registrar (Births & Deaths), MCD or NDMC.
• The annual family income should be less than INR 1 lac.
• The girl, who is school going, must be studying in a school recognized by Delhi Government/MCD/NDMC.
• The scheme is limited to 2 surviving girls per family.

How to Apply for the Ladli Scheme in Delhi?

Step 1: Download the form or obtain it from the Department of Social Welfare/ WCD, Government of Delhi/ State Bank of India/ Government recognized schools. (http://www.wcddel.in/ladli.html)

Step 2: Fill in all the details and Attach all the required documents.

Step 3: Then, submit it to the concerned District Officer.

NOTE: Completely filled-in application form must be submitted-

For School going girl: Within 90 days of admission of the girl

For Newborn girl: Within the year of birth

Documents Required for Ladli Yojna Delhi Include:

1. Address proof (three years residence proof in Delhi, ration card, electricity bill)
2. Parental Income Certificate
3. Birth certificate of girl
4. Family picture
5. Caste certificate of applicant
6. Aadhaar card for both the child and the parents
