Nehru Planetarium Delhi is a place where school going students get all the relevant information about space, galaxy and astronomy. It is located at Teen Murti Marg in New Delhi. Nehru Memorial planetarium, yearly conducts various quizzes, competitions and seminars for students and sometimes on a monthly basis as well. Some of them are listed below which you must attend if you have a pure zeal for astronomy and galaxy.

Light pollution show

Sound pollution, noise pollution and water pollution are common to be heard. But, did you know that light also causes pollution. To know more about it you should attend the light pollution show called ye tara wo tara is held every month at the Nehru Planetarium Delhi.

Model making

Perhaps it sounds boring and clumsy?But, the model making competition at the Nehru Planetarium Delhi is conducted every year and all the participating students are given stationery material to build up models of Indian spacecraft. Participation certificates are provided to everyone, whereas best models are given pride of place and are showcased in the museum.

Astronomic quiz

Astronomical quiz is held once in a year. With the use of sky theatre dome quiz is conducted. The winner receives certificates from the Nehru Memorial Planetarium authority. Students also get encouragement after the participation in such quizzes. Interested students eagerly wait for this quiz every year. 

Sky watch show

A show called “sky watch” is available for Delhiites on the second and fourth Saturday every month. During the show the planetarium’s authority set up the equipments in the field near the premises of Nehru Planetarium Delhi. The discussions are hosted by skilled professionals in which current situation of the sky is shown and elaborated with facts. Sky watch show generally depends on the climatic condition of the sky. That’s why it’s not conducted in the monsoon months.
