Session started; No Faculties for Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication in DU

North campus, which is one of the best places to visit in Delhi has put its reputation at stake. Bachelor in Journalism and mass communication was commenced in the colleges of Delhi University on Tuesday. Yet the faculty for the course is not appointed.  Vice chancellor of DU, Yogesh K Tyagi the Registrar Tarun Kumar have officially inaugurated the department. During the inauguration, the VC said that he wants to take the course of Journalism at world level, but he was unable to answer how the department will be World Class.

Mean while, at the same time, in the absence of faculty, Dr. Mansavini M. Yogi, lecturer of OSD and IP College said that the orientation program of journalism Department will be started for the time being. Through which, the students will be acknowledged about the subjects with the help of guest lectures. The post of two Permanent Lecturers is also vacant in the University.
60 students are of Hindi medium and 60 students are of English medium, who have been admitted to the five-year Graduation Lower PG Course. Dr Rajesh Jha, member of the DU’s Constitutional Body Executive Council, said that when the proposal was made to constitute the department, it was opposed by everyone. The opposition was concerned with the self financed course, because Journalism courses in many of the DU colleges are being taught at the graduation level. But no lecturer has been appointed in the department so far.
