POOR CONDITION OF ROAD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT

We often heard many road accidents which occur due to the carelessness shown by the driver or by the people travelling on the road. As per the statistics of 2016 India witnessed 17 deaths and 55 road accidents every hour. According to the latest report released by the Union road transport and highway ministry, there’s one death in every 4 minutes due to the road accidents in India. Road accidents are the main reason behind the fall back in the overall population of India. Recently an accident is spotted, where the couple got injured very badly due to the poor condition of the road.

On the Kanjhawala Road near Karala village, Sanjay Chauhan and his wife were heading back to their home; their scooter lost its balance which leads to an accident in which their scooter hit with a pothole. Victim Usha 40-year-old is a school teacher. She fell straight into the path of a truck which was behind them. As per the police statement the truck driver was unable to stop the truck suddenly. The driver somehow managed to flee from the spot, but later he got arrested. Sanjay is under critical condition and he remains bedridden.

After the accident the pothole has been filled temporarily. This accident made local residents angry. Dinesh, Sanjay’s brother said “It’s nearly three months since the ghastly accident and the only thing we have got in the name of justice is the arrest of the truck driver,”

Mana Ram, a Karala resident who travels from this road on a daily basis, proclaimed that the road has been in such a condition for a long period of time and almost every day someone or the other slips and falls due to that pothole. Many people have asked the civic authorities to re-carpet the road, but apart from assurances nothing has been done. This road was the major link between Kanjhawala and Rohini. Approximately 50,000 vehicles use that road every day.
