An occultist has been arrested by Delhi police, for allegedly molesting and cheating a woman in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar. The accused, 45-year-old Aftab, is said to have walked out of his marriage and started his “practice” as a Tantrik sometime ago, and since then he has duped at least a dozen women.
- Aftab claimed to offer a permanent solution to women in distress using his “supernatural powers”. amongst many people he was known as “Sufi Baba”, he holds expertise in conning people. In his visiting card, he claimed to have solutions for all trending problems such as “reconciling with lovers; eradicating infertility; career growth & promotion; domestic disputes etc.
The complainant informed police that she was under stress due to some domestic issues and thus, she had approached the tantrik, referred to her by a friend.
The woman said she was impressed with her first meeting with the accused as he promised to solve her problems permanently using his supernatural powers. Thereafter, she started visiting him regularly. One day the man allegedly took her to a room and “hypnotized her”. He then allegedly molested her.
She then filed a complained against the accused, the case was registered at Sangam Vihar police station and a team, led by SHO Upender Singh, was formed to look for Aftab and after several raids, the team ended up arresting him.
