A 16-year-old juvenile from Delhi was forced by her mother into sex trade a month ago, when the water had crossed above head she decided to bust the racket and raised her voice against the family and a “sex racket” in Manali. The girl informed cops that her mother had handed her over to a pimp and was taking Rs 40,000 from him every month.

On Saturday, when the pimps arranged to send her to the client, she escaped and reached a nearby private hospital in Manali, where she sought help from a staff member. The staff member contacted child helpline (1098) immediately. The members of helpline association contacted police and got the case registered on Sunday under various IPC sections.
Kullu superintendent of police Shalini Agnihotri told that Based on girl’s statement police has arrested the main accused from Manali, who is a resident of Punjab. He was produced before the court on Monday and was in police custody for three days
Statement of the girl would be recorded under section 164 CRPC on Tuesday as she has revealed that along with her many other girls were also brought to Manali and few of them can also be juvenile. According to SP girls have gone underground but police are working towards tracking them down. Agnihotri added that “There is a possibility that this sex racket has its connections in Delhi. Our team is seriously investigating the matter,”.
Kullu police have busted nine sex rackets in the district in last few years and rescued many women. The grievous thing is that Sex trade is being mixed with tourism in Manali. Pimps bring many girls, including foreigners, especially during summer tourist season in Manali.
