The Intolerant Delhi: Argument over Smoking killed one student

No Smoking

Two students from Delhi College of Photography were trying to make a documentary taking the people who live on the footpath as a topic. Suddenly a guy started smoking around them, which became the reason of an argument between the smoker and two of them. Unfortunately, the argument became hostile. After the argument, the filmmakers started their bike and covered a distance of just 400 meters when a car smashed their bike from the backside and made them fall down. The incident was reported near the Safdarjung hospital, which is around 10 kms far from Connaught place Delhi.

The victims were recognized as Gurpreet Singh and Maninder Singh. Where Maninder is in a very serious condition, on the other hand Gurpreet lost his life in the accident. As per Maninder’s statement the suspect also collided with an ola cab and other cars as well which made him realize that it was the same guy with whom they initially had argument. Maninder saw his face while he was taking Gurpreet to the hospital along with an auto driver.

At first the incident was considered as an accident because Maninder and Gurpreet could not give their statements as they were in a miserable condition after this road rage accident. On behalf of the statement provided by the Ola Cab driver the case was categorized as an accident. But, on Wednesday, Police took statement from Maninder and revealed the truth. The accused Rohit Mahanta was earlier under the police custody for merely the case of Accident but, now a case under section 302 of IPC has been filed against him.
