Rashtrapati Bhavan: What All You Need to Know Before Your Visit Here

Home to the President of India, The Rashtrapati Bhavan has been thrown open to the public for four days in a week I.e. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This Palace is still known to be the World’s largest residential complex ever built for Head of any Country. Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi is one of the most iconic monuments in India.

The newly elected President Ram Nath Kovind will stay here for five years dated from July 2017. The structure speaks volumes of a classical design that united blended with both western and Indian styles depicting architectural excellence that marked the identity of the Government of India in today’s modern ambience. The Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi consists of four floors with 340 rooms and the floor area spans over a massive 200,000 square feet.

The premises of the Rashtrapati Bhavan has been divided into three circuits and can be accessed by an authorized visitor at specific times slots over the day. People can plan visit to any of these circuits on select days of the week.

Open Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

Cost: INR 50, (Children under 8 years are exempted from the registration fee)

Visits can be booked online at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s official site. No visitors from the public will be allowed to visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, if they don’t have an online booking.

  • The first circuit is the Central Lawn and Main Building, where you can spectate the architecture.
  • The second circuit includes the Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum complex, which has many buildings within its own perimeter.
  • The third circuit comprises of marvelous Mughal Gardens which is a paradise of lush greenery and the elegant gardens. The famous Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan covers an overall area of 15 acres and have many varieties of flowers. It is famous for its 159 varieties of roses.
